DESCRIPTION

Robert Perrish is known for his vibrant realist paintings of the landscape and Michigan scenes.

This two-day workshop will begin in the studio, then go outside to paint a plein air painting, and return to the studio to make adjustments and finish the work.

Through careful observation and practice, you will enhance your painting skills as you develop an understanding of both technical processes and design, including color, value, and subject matter.

Artists must have some basic painting skills in your painting medium of choice. Previous outdoor/plein air experience is not necessary.

SKILL LEVEL & PREREQUISITES

This workshop is designed for those with some prior painting experience. Plein-air painting experience is not required. .

Robert Perrish is an award-winning designer, sculptor and painter whose love of nature is evident in everything he creates. This was first expressed through wildlife painting and sculpture and has since evolved into painting landscapes, portraits, and still life.

Robert worked in the commercial art field in illustration and design for 30 years. A lifelong resident of Michigan, he has lived with his family in Livonia for the past 34 years. He has traveled extensively throughout the United States and abroad, capturing as much as he can on canvas along the way. Plein air painting has become a regular habit and has helped his studio work as well. He is one of the co-founders of Michigan Plein Air Painters and paints with them on a regular basis, as well as traveling out of state for other painting opportunities.

Awards include Michigan Wildlife Artist of the Year, Ducks Unlimited Artist of the Year, as well as DU Carver of the Year 3 times, 16 Best-of-Shows in national and international carving competitions.

His artwork and sculptures have appeared in national magazines, calendars, books, limited edition prints, and various art galleries.
 

Cancellation Policy for Multi-Day, Sequential-Day Adult Workshops

Cancellation
Crooked Tree Arts Center reserves the right to cancel any multi-day, sequential-day workshop that does not meet its minimum student enrollment 30 days prior to the first workshop session. If a workshop is cancelled by CTAC for lack of enrollment, CTAC will offer a full refund to the student in the manner in which tuition was paid. (Cash payments will be refunded by check.)

Student Withdrawal
Requests for cancellation by the student at least sixty (60) days prior to the first day of the workshop will be honored (minus a $20 processing fee).  Requests for cancellation by the student between thirty (30) and fifty-nine (59) days prior to the first day of the workshop will receive a 50% tuition refund . NO REFUNDS will be given for a student cancellation made less than thirty (30) days prior to the first day of the workshop.
