    DESCRIPTION

    Metal forging is the process of shaping metals using compressive force, such as hammering, pressing, and rolling.

    In this workshop, you will learn the basics of hot forging in this fun introductory class. Learn to use an electric coke/coal forge to shape iron on an anvil.

    Learn forging techniques such as heat control, tapering, fullering, twisting and scrolling, and punching and drifting.

    Students will leave the class with their own custom bottle opener.

    This workshop takes place at North Central Michigan College.

    This class is designed for beginners interested in learning the basics of forging.

    Cancellation Policy for Multi-Day, Sequential-Day Adult Workshops

    Cancellation
    Crooked Tree Arts Center reserves the right to cancel any multi-day, sequential-day workshop that does not meet its minimum student enrollment 30 days prior to the first workshop session. If a workshop is cancelled by CTAC for lack of enrollment, CTAC will offer a full refund to the student in the manner in which tuition was paid. (Cash payments will be refunded by check.)

    Student Withdrawal
    Requests for cancellation by the student at least sixty (60) days prior to the first day of the workshop will be honored (minus a $20 processing fee).  Requests for cancellation by the student between thirty (30) and fifty-nine (59) days prior to the first day of the workshop will receive a 50% tuition refund . NO REFUNDS will be given for a student cancellation made less than thirty (30) days prior to the first day of the workshop.
