Kimball is a devoted plein air painter with a deep passion for capturing the natural world. A graduate of BYU–Idaho, his foundation in realism and mentorship under artist Albin Veselka helped shape his grounded, expressive style. Kimball believes time spent in nature is essential—both for artistic inspiration and for well-being—and that belief comes through in every brushstroke.
In addition to selecting the award-winning paintings during Paint Grand Traverse, Kimball will also be teaching a three-day landscape painting workshop, June 21–23, for those looking to dive deeper into his process and approach.
This event is free and open to the public—a rare opportunity to watch Kimball work and gain insight into the vision behind his award selections.
