    Description

Drawing is the foundation for so many forms of art, and it's something anyone can learn to do. This course is designed for beginners and will help you develop your drawing skills and discover compositional principles to help you improve your two-dimensional artwork.

Whether you are new to drawing or painting, looking to fill gaps in your arts education, or looking to restart your studio practice, this class has something for you. Over six sessions, we will cover key concepts and techniques for observational drawing from life, including blind contour, contour, linear perspective, atmospheric perspective, working with value light on form, principles of composition, and gestalt principles.

    All supplies provided.

    SKILL LEVEL: Beginner.

This class is designed for beginning drawers. More experienced drawers and painters may also benefit from reviewing the fundamental concepts and skills of this class.

    WHAT TO EXPECT:
This is a skill-building class and will focus on observational drawing techniques. Fundamental drawing concepts and vocabulary will be presented through lectures, slides, and live demonstrations. Expect to begin class with gentle critiques and conversations, followed by a slide lecture, an in-person demonstration, and work time. Optional homework will be assigned.
