14 sessions: Wednesdays, Jan. 15th – Apr. 30th, 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.
(NO session on 3/26 due to Spring Break. 3/19 is a make-up session only, if a previous class is canceled due to severe weather.)
For students in Grades 9-12. 8th Grade students may also be considered for the program, with a recommendation from an art teacher, mentor, CTAC faculty, and/or after a portfolio review. Contact michllebien@crookedtree.org for details. Homeschooled students are also welcome.
Are you an emerging artist who wants to take your creative development to the next level? Take advantage of this incredible opportunity to get ready for the art world! Our 14-week program is offered to students interested in developing a strong art portfolio while building new skills and techniques. Sessions include:
- Ample time and space to develop your own creative work
- Critiques, both peer-to-peer and teacher-led
- Professional portfolio reviews, along with group and one-on-one guidance
- Live figure drawing
- Guided practice in documenting and presenting your work
- Lessons in art materials and methods, art history, and professional practices
- AND a GROUP ART SHOW at Crooked Tree Arts Center!
All materials included; bringing your own supplies is also encouraged.
This class is taught by local artist and art instructor Royce Deans.
