Crooked Tree Arts Center Celebrated Mortgage Retirement

May 24, 2024 – Crooked Tree Arts Center (CTAC) celebrated the organization's retirement of the mortgage for its Petoskey building. By retiring the mortgage, the organization can redirect significant funds towards what matters most — classes, lectures, performances, workshops, arts programs, scholarships, and more.

Last year, CTAC completed its 50th Anniversary Campaign where members of the community contributed to key initiatives that secured the organization’s presence as a community resource for the next 50 years. Donors supported the campaign with donations totaling $1.1 million to create new enriching programming, to improve facilities, and to enhance visitor experience. One of the primary goals was paying off the remaining mortgage for CTAC’s cherished building in downtown Petoskey. As a way to mark the occasion and thank the community, CTAC hosted a small gathering on Thursday, May 23 to celebrate the final payment on the building.

“This celebration shares with our community CTAC’s commitment to fiscal responsibility, ensuring that we remain in a strong financial position to continue serving our community through the arts for many years to come,” said Angela Morris, CTAC President.

"We are profoundly grateful that due to the never ending generosity of our donors we were able to surpass our goal for the 50th Anniversary Campaign. In addition to retiring the mortgage on the CTAC - Petoskey building and additional improvements to the facilities, we look forward to providing many additional opportunities for our students and for our supporters.” said Elaine Smiley, Chair of Crooked Tree Arts Center’s Board of Directors.
