Crooked Tree Arts Center Announces Downtown Sound Performing Arts Series 2024-2025 Lineup; Events To Be Held In Newly Renovated CTAC-Theater
PETOSKEY, MI — Crooked Tree Arts Center (CTAC) is proud to announce this year’s Downtown Sound Performing Arts Series schedule, which will run from September 2024 through March 2025 in the Petoskey area. In addition to CTAC School of Ballet’s highly anticipated seasonal performances, this year’s lineup will feature local, regional and nationally-touring musical talent across a variety of genres for a robust, family-friendly program that will delight the Northern Michigan community. Highly anticipated shows include popular Michigan-grown favorites May Erlewine and Detroit’s “Queen of the Blues” Thornetta Davis, as well as the holiday classic, The Nutcracker.
“Performing arts have been an important part of Crooked Tree Arts Center’s programming since the inception of the organization,” notes Ed Boyer, Chair of the CTAC Performing Arts Committee. “With our Downtown Sound series, we aim to create more opportunities for our incredible pool of Michigan talent while also bringing in dynamite national acts to inspire the community and elevate Northern Michigan's arts scene. We’re very fortunate to collaborate with regional organizations and receive financial support from local businesses and individuals in the area, making this outstanding, curated series possible each year.”
The majority of performances will be held in the newly renovated CTAC Theater, a charming and intimate 220-seat auditorium ideal for showcasing live performances. Updates made this summer include freshly painted walls and floors, new carpeting, and additional wheelchair-accessible and companion seating.
“One of the primary focus areas of our strategic vision has been creating a more welcoming and accessible space for our patrons,” said CTAC President Angela Morris. “We’re grateful to be able to make these much-needed improvements to our beautiful venue, making this year’s Downtown Sound even more enjoyable to experience.” These upgrades were made possible thanks to the generous support of community donors and Petoskey-Harbor Springs Area Community Foundation, the Charlevoix County Community Foundation, National Endowment for the Arts, and Michigan Arts and Culture Council.
Concert ticket prices range from $10-$50 and are available at www.crookedtree.org/downtownsound or by calling (231) 347-4337. Tickets for School of Ballet performances will release in early October.
