We're back this September!
For artists grades 9 - 12.
Students in 8th grade may be considered.
Class meets Wednesdays 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm. We will offer Saturday Art Clinics at a discounted rate to students enrolled in 12 week class.
Join us for a twelve-week in-person program offered to current high school students (grades 9 – 12) interested in building new skills for their creative pursuits. This studio-based program helps you develop a strong creative portfolio and includes opportunities for critique, portfolio reviews, and guidance on documenting and presenting artwork. The course includes ample time and space to develop your own creative work, while also providing lessons in art materials and methods, art history, and professional practices. Students who complete this program will be eligible to participate in an annual showcase at Crooked Tree Arts Center.
This class is taught by local studio artists who will provide individualized instruction to help students reach their goals and create portfolio quality work. Students in 8th grade may be considered for the program (as space allows) with a recommendation from an art teacher, mentor, CTAC faculty, and/or a portfolio.
We kick off the program in our new printmaking lab! Other art exploration will include drawing/painting from a nude figure model, working on large canvas, group critques and artist studio visit. Students enrolled will receive a substantial discount on Saturday Art Clinics.
