    Description

Join us for a six week in-person program offered to current high school students (grades 9 – 12) interested in building new skills for their creative pursuits. This studio-based program helps you develop a strong creative portfolio with opportunities for critique, portfolio reviews, and guidance with documenting and presenting artwork.

The course includes ample time and space to develop your own creative work, while also providing lessons in art materials and methods, art history, and professional practices. Students who complete this program will be eligible to participate in an annual showcase at Crooked Tree Arts Center.

All high school courses are taught by professional teaching-artists who provide individualized instruction to help students reach their goals and create portfolio quality work. Students in 8th grade may be considered for the program (as space allows) with a recommendation from an art teacher, mentor, CTAC faculty and/or a portfolio.

Students currently enrolled in the after-school program will receive a High School Portfolio Membership (based on enrollment dates) discount on Saturday Art Clinics.

Cancellation Policy for Traverse City Classes (In-Person)

    Student Withdrawal
Requests for cancellation by the student at least seven (7) days prior to the first day of class will be honored (minus a $20 processing fee).  NO REFUNDS will be given for a student cancellation made less than seven (7) days in advance of the first day of the class.

    Class Cancellations (Weather)
In the event of inclement weather, CTAC-TC will announce the cancellation on its website and phone system (231-941-9488). Please note that CTAC-TC does not follow Traverse City Area Public School closings.

    Student Absence
We are unable to offer refunds or make-up sessions for classes missed due to student absence.
