Flooding Incident at Crooked Tree Arts Center - Petoskey

Crooked Tree Arts Center - Petoskey experienced flooding in the building last week, causing damage to our space and disruption to our programming.

On the evening of January 31, a water supply line to a toilet in the women's restroom on the first floor became disconnected, flooding certain areas of our building. The first-floor bathrooms and entryway were affected, as well as the lower-level hallway, pottery studio, men's restroom, and mechanical room. While the most significant damage occurred in the pottery studio and mechanical room, we are relieved to report that there was no impact on our galleries, ballet studio, visual arts room, music room, or kitchen. Additionally, no artwork was damaged. We are actively working with our insurance company and Lake Effect Restoration to repair and restore the affected spaces as quickly as possible.

Our galleries are currently open. Although, we are assessing classes and events on a case-by-case basis and we are collaborating with community partners to secure alternative spaces for displaced classes. We are grateful for the support of Petoskey District Library, North Central Michigan College, and others! If you are registered for a program, we will be reaching out via email.

Our dedicated staff will be available in the building during office hours and can be reached by calling (231) 347-4337 should you have any questions or concerns. We understand the inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding. We are committed to keeping you informed and will provide updates as soon as they become available.

Thank you for your ongoing support and understanding as we work to address this issue. If you have any further questions or require assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.
