Carlin Ash is an illustrator, bookbinder, printmaker, weaver, and sewist from Philadelphia who received her BFA from Maryland Institute College of Art. Sustainability is a cornerstone of her practice and so she prefers to use found and reclaimed materials in her work whenever possible. She currently finds inspiration in folk art, Minoan frescoes, fashion history, and medieval marginalia, and never shies away from using bright colors.
