Artist Guild Membership
Frequently Asked Questions
- Do I have to be in the Artist Guild if I’m already a CTAC member and an artist?
No! The Artist Guild Membership is optional and designed for artists who want to take advantage of special exhibition, promotion, and networking opportunities. If you would like to regularly participate in CTAC juried exhibition opportunities, be listed in the Artist Guild Directory, and participate in the annual Artist Guild Member Salon Show, then this membership is right for you.
- My partner and I are both artists. Do we each need a separate Guild Membership?
No, purchase one Artist Guild Membership and add all household member(s) and artist(s) for an additional $50 to receive benefits.
- I just renewed my regular membership—can I upgrade to Artist Guild?
Absolutely! Contact our front desk and we’ll help you update your membership.
- Are Artist Guild benefits available at both CTAC locations?
Yes! Artist Guild benefits apply at both Petoskey and Traverse City locations. Some events, like the annual Salon Show or professional development workshops may rotate between locations.
Artist Guild Directory
What Is It?
The Artist Guild Directory is an online showcase on the Crooked Tree Arts Center website, designed to promote the work of Artist Guild members. Each artist gets a dedicated profile page where visitors can view artwork, read your bio or artist statement, and access direct links to your website, Instagram, or gallery. It’s a great way for the public—and potential buyers, curators, and collaborators—to discover your work.
How It Works
After joining the Artist Guild, you’ll receive an email from CTAC with a login and link to create your listing. You’ll be able to upload and manage your own content at any time.
Please note: CTAC reserves the right to edit content for clarity and to remove any material that does not meet the standards of our website.
Why Be Listed?
Local businesses, collectors, and community members regularly contact CTAC looking for artists—for commissions, exhibitions, and artwork purchases. Being listed in the Artist Guild Directory ensures you’re visible to potential clients, collaborators, and curators. Whether you're directing traffic to your own website or using the directory as your primary online presence, it’s a powerful promotional tool.
