Emily Legleitner's solo exhibition, Dreams Beyond Reason, consists of large-scale relief prints that center on the complex relationships between labor, ambition, and aspiration. A person's story is so often tied to their professional occupation, but does this reflect the essence of one's story? Exploring this question, and inspired by personal narratives and familial histories, Legleitner depicts comforting images of home pushed to distortion through perceived excess or exaggerated perspectives. The images reflect ideas of home, domesticity, work, and dreams realized or not, provoking viewers to consider the fleeting nature of time and the common human condition of longing.
