Join CTAC in a conversation with artist guild member Connie Jason. This event will be in-person and online with zoom.
Connie is a Traverse City member that has been working in watercolor, collage and printmaking in various formats since graduating with a degree in Art Education from Western Michigan University. Most recently she has been exploring methods of print-making including intaglio and mezzotint. All of this has changed when her eye sight dimished drastically, until she could no longer see most deails as her central vision became distorted and has been left with limited eyesight. At first Connie felt she had to give up the arts, until a friend and mentor suggested she evelop a new style that is fast and captures the "gist" of the subject, while giving up the agonizing details. Connie will share her progression of her art and discuss the possibilities that disabilities present.
Each year, Crooked Tree Arts Center celebrates the creative work of our Guild Member Artists in our annual Guild Member Salon Show. This invitational exhibition presents a diverse collection of art by equally diverse artists.
This event is FREE and requires advance zoom registration. To register click here. If you are attending virtually, please have a piece of paper and a pen or pencil handy as Connie will ask students to do an exercise to help let go and exlpore new ideas.
