Join us from September 19 through November 1, for the exhibition, Vibrant Matter: Engaging Energies, featuring the works of several artists, including Renee Wasson Dillard, Loren Eiferman, Elizabeth Fergus-Jean, Jason Francisco, Dawson Moore, Shanna Robinson, Brian Schorn, and Katie St. Clair, that explore the idea that everything—both living and nonliving—is connected by energy and change.
The exhibition explores the notion of vibrant materialism, which suggests that all matter, both living and nonliving, possesses a kind of vitality and the capacity to influence and be influenced by its surroundings. This perspective shifts the focus from human agency to a broader understanding of the interconnectedness of everything, including non-human entities and objects; a perspective consistent with the practices, lifeways, and worldviews of many traditional cultures, and with commitments to environmental stewardship.
