    1 session: Saturday, Feb. 8th, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
    Adults / Ages 17+

Learn the basics of working with silver - or expand upon what you already know - with Janet Ryan, jewelry artist and silversmith!

Do you love to discover and collect stone treasures from Michigan's shorelines? Learn how to turn your favorite beach stone finds into jewelry as you create a sterling silver pendant or ring with a Lake Michigan beach stone.

Students will learn the basic skills in design, bezel making, soldering, and stone setting to create your one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry. You can bring in your own beach stone (refer to the description in the Supply List) or choose from the instructor's collection.

    • Please read the Supply List in the link provided.
    • Required: A materials fee, listed in Supply List, is due to instructor on the first day of class.
    • All skill levels welcome! When registering, consider your experience level which will determine your supplies:
      • Level 1: Beginners - No experience necessary.
      • Level 2: Those who have previous silversmithing experience: You qualify if you have taken a Level 1 class before, and/or have already learned how to solder and only need assistance with more intermediate/advanced techniques.
