This workshop introduces students to the fundamentals of encaustic monotype: a printing process that uses a heated plate and pigmented wax to create one of a kind prints on paper. Students will learn everything needed in order to continue the exploration of this exciting process, including materials, resources, presentation of finished work, safety, and best practices. Paper will be provided, but students are invited to bring their favorite printmaking or Japanese paper for individual experimentation. Also, be sure to bring a sketchbook and a sense of adventure!
