Spend a couple of fun days exploring the unique attributes of acrylic. Vibrant colors. Rich textures. Expressive brushwork. All are easily achieved in acrylic. Below is an abbreviated agenda of both days.
During the first day of this workshop, students will work from provided reference material. Spencer will demonstrate his approach to designing, developing, and following through to the finished painting. Afterwards, students will be free to implement what they have learned, as Spencer oversees and assists those who have questions.
The second day will begin with a recap of the previous day. If appropriate, Spencer will do a brief demo to solidify students’ understanding, followed by time for students to put final touches on their paintings from day one. Then students will create their own painting working from their personal photos. In keeping with the theme of the workshop, these reference photos need to be landscape images - it's a perfect opportunity to use vacation photos!
This class is appropriate for all skill levels and artists who want to experience the vibrancy of acrylic. Throughout the workshop, composition and design and the role they play in a successful painting, will be discussed.
