Crooked Tree Arts Center in Petoskey, Michigan, is accepting submissions for Identity Maps, CTAC's 2024 juried photography exhibition.
Artists residing in the Great Lakes Region (Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and the Canadian province of Ontario) are invited to submit up to 3 original works for consideration.
The poet Elizabeth Brewster wrote: “People are made of places”, and as we know, places are also transformed and inflected by people. The exhibition aims to gather works that explore dynamic relationships between individuals, communities, identities, and places.
Submissions must be original works of art created with photographic media. Broad interpretation of the theme, traditional and experimental approaches, and photographic mixed media works are welcome. However, we cannot accommodate video works for this exhibition. Work must have been created within the past three years and should not exceed 42 inches in any dimension or weigh more than 50 pounds.
This opportunity is open to Great Lakes region artists, including residents of Michigan, Ohio, Minnesota, Indiana, Illinois, New York, Pennsylvania, and the Canadian Province of Ontario who are at least 18 years old.
$1000 in prizes will be awarded. ($500 for first, $300 for second, and $200 for third place.)
