Printmaking has always been a part of my artistic life. My concentration is currently on intaglio etching prints, but in the past, I have used silkscreen, collagraph, monotype, and acrylics. My life has been centered around academics. I have a BA in studio art and art education plus an MFA in painting and printmaking. I have taught all levels of art from Kindergarten thru college. I have focused on exhibiting my work in educational settings. My excitement comes from others viewing and learning from my work.
I have chosen to be a nonobjective artist. My inspiration comes from many sources, including my own drawings, three-dimensional abstract objects, or photographic images. They are scanned into my computer, manipulated, and transferred to Imagon etching plates. Although the initial prints are two-dimensional, I have also transformed them into three-dimensional forms. Like most creative artists, my goal is to constantly grow and change in new and surprising directions.
