My name is Charlie Curro, and I’m an artist and photographer originally from Cincinnati, Ohio. After attending the Art Academy of Cincinnati briefly, I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Cincinnati, where I also did a year of graduate school work. I’ve exhibited my artwork in Cincinnati at the Tangeman University Center Art Gallery, the Cincinnati Art Club, and the Contemporary Art Center; in Louisville, Kentucky at Actors Theater Gallery, the Liberty Art Gallery, and the Speed Art Museum; and in Memphis, Tennessee at the Memphis College of Art, where I also was a part-time instructor in illustration, basic design, and stone lithography.
I have earned my living as an Art Preparator for various art institutions in Ohio, Kentucky, and New York; as an illustrator and graphics editor for newspapers in Louisville and Memphis; and for over thirty years as an illustrator, photographer, and computer graphics designer specializing in orthopedic medical communications.
I’m retiring soon and will be making art full-time at my home/studio near Grayling, Michigan.
