Crooked Tree Arts Center to Manage Suttons Bay Art Festival
TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. — Crooked Tree Arts Center (CTAC) is excited to announce it will be taking on the management of the Suttons Bay Art Festival, a beloved tradition that has brought artists and the community together for decades. This transition follows an invitation from the festival’s organizers, who sought a capable and experienced partner to ensure the festival’s continued success. The 2025 Suttons Bay Art Festival will take place on August 2-3 at Suttons Bay Marina Park.
“We are honored to take on this role and continue the legacy of the Suttons Bay Art Festival,” said Kristi Wodek, vice president of Crooked Tree Arts Center and director of the Traverse City campus. “With our longstanding history of supporting the arts — including hosting our own art fair for more than 60 years — we are committed to maintaining the quality and community spirit that make this festival so special.”
The decision reflects years of collaboration between CTAC and the festival’s dedicated organizers, including Donna Popke, Bill Perkins, Stephen Palmer and others. In 2024, Wodek and Brian Iler, galleries and volunteer coordinator at CTAC, worked closely with the festival team to understand its operations and ensure a seamless transition.
Held annually on the first Saturday and Sunday of August at Suttons Bay Marina Park, the festival features more than 100 artists from across the country and serves as a vibrant celebration of art and community. CTAC is honored to carry this tradition forward, creating opportunities for artists while enriching the lively Suttons Bay community.
The deadline to apply as an artist for the 2025 Suttons Bay Art Festival is March 15, 2025. For those interested in volunteering or with additional questions, please contact Brian Iler at brian@crookedtree.org.
The festival will continue its commitment to showcasing exceptional art and fostering a welcoming environment. CTAC looks forward to enhancing this cherished event’s impact for years to come.
