As a child growing up on a farm in Kingsley, Michigan, I wanted to be an artist with Disney and entered the “You can Draw” contests advertised in magazines. I also wanted to be a teacher. After graduating from Kingsley Area Schools, I attended Northwestern Michigan College in Traverse City, MI and graduated from Central Michigan University with a B.S. in Elementary Education.
My first teaching job was with the Bureau of Indian Affairs at Teec Nos Pos, Arizona on the Navajo Reservation and also taught in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I taught at Buckley Community Schools for over 30 years with my last three years teaching art.
When not creating art, I enjoy reading, gardening, working on my house, and traveling. I enjoy teaching classes around the state. My love of travel has taken me completely around the world visiting Japan, India, Greece, Europe, and many places in between. Recent travel includes trips to Canada, Paris, and a cross country trip to see the redwoods, Sanibel Island, and San Diego.
