    Description

Local pianist, Tawnya Morse will be examining Impressionism as a musical idiom through the work of four composers from France, America, and Spain. Impressionism in music is linked not only to visual art, but also to literature. This is particularly important in the music of the French Impressionists. Each of the four composers were influenced slightly differently by the ideas of their time, and their music reveals correspondingly unique perspectives. Morse will be performing music by Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel, Charles T. Griffes, and Frederico Mompou.
