This drawing class is designed to further develop observational abilities and rendering skills, and to provide a concentrated investigation of anatomy, gesture, proportion, light, space, form, and composition. Initially the emphasis will be on realism (i.e. drawing what you see) using traditional academic drawing techniques along with in-depth anatomical research, followed by a period of longer poses. We will be using primarily charcoal, pastel, and pencil, but feel free to experiment/employ other media that students have experience with and are interested in using. Students new to figure drawing are welcome!
